Relay (which is an exhibit put together to show the art of students from a school in Tokyo) took place last week. I took a whole bunch of pics while there, too many to put them all in the post, so check out the slideshow.
- Evil and Justice. Trifled by the wheels of fate, the Twin Phoenix.
- MARVEL Bishojo Statue Series, a series that turns the American Comics Heroines into
figurines, according to the art of the popular illustrator [Shunya Yamashita].
- Chosen as the 5th character to join this lineup is the omega-class mutant, [Phoenix]!
- Phoenix is known as the other side of [Jean Grey-Summers], being one of the original
members of X-MEN, an [Omega-class] mutant with power to potentially change the world.
- And this Phoenix has been productized with a very active pose, as if emerging from the
flames, just like her name.
- Phoenix is scheduled for release with the villain that could be seen as the other Phoenix,
the [Dark Phoenix] (sold separately).
- Height approx 230mm.
This is fantastic take on X-Men’s Pheonix, both are so awesome I can’t decide yet on which one I’d get (probably the Dark Pheonix version).
She’ll run you about $58 dollars and you can pre-order her here.
One of the best things about Japan, besides the fact that they serve beer at KFC, is the plentiful amount of arcades and toy shops. Seriously, you can’t throw a stone without hitting a Pachinko parlor around here and the toy stores sometimes go up 9 stories high.
Aso Bit City was one of the first multi-floored toy stores I checked out. Being that photo’s aren’t really allowed there aren’t that many in this tour set, but you at least get to take a peek.
Liono stands at about 15 inches tall, 17 inches across with his long, sweeping hair.
His arms are jointed, and he has a tiny Sword of Omen’s that is Velcro-attached to his paw.
Liono was mostly hand-sewn, partially machine-sewn.
How freaking cute is that?
He runs for $195 which is a high price to pay for a plushie, but when will you ever see a Liono plush in stores? Even if you do it’s improbable that it would be as freaking cute as this one. You can order one here.
Taking inspiration from the films Akira, Ghost in the Shell and Animatrix, this is a reinterpretation of Neo-Tokyo, but set in New York.
This print is based on an illustration for the Freestyle Collective in collaboration with IdN Anime.
Some of you might recognize the art of Camilla D’Errico because of her manga work (Make 5 wishes, Tanpopo, Sky Pirates of Neo Terra) or possibly from many other things you could find her art on .
Beautiful artwork based off of a beautiful city, and you can buy this print here for just $25!
Flickr user Zephos who was understandably obsessed with the game Borderlands (I was obsessed with Borderlands for a long while too) has put their own take on the female playable character the Siren. The anime style really works for the world of Borderlands, this picture has great detail, and there is just a fantastic use of colors here.
Made by a friend for a friend this Naruto DSi features a black and grey character image on the top of the system, a metallic orange (pic makes it look yellow but it’s orange) inside with matching orange triggers.
Hi!
I usually post a lot of random things about video games, movies, comics, manga, toys, zombies, and other geeky stuff.
Thanks for coming by and I hope you enjoy your stay!
