The image you see above was created by Pixel Fantasy by taking random pictures and inserting sprites into them. When I asked about the picture he said “I actually just found a picture online and put them in it. I thought it made perfect sense” and it does make perfect sense. Let’s see some more of his work that makes perfect sense:

I love all of these, I wish stuff like this were real that way I could see sprites walking around all the time. It would be kind of like the movie Roger Rabbit. If you want to see more of his work check here.

wow that first one and mario kart one are pretty damn good. Someone ought to try and remake the original mario using that first method, photograph for background.

[...] Check out this amazing gallery of images made by Pixel Fantasy. He pretty much just found some random pictures online and Photoshopped some classic gaming sprites into them with real world effects like shadows, blurs, and reflection. This is such a simple, yet genius idea and I’d totally buy huge prints of these to hang up on my walls. Well done. [Via That Girl’s Site] [...]

Totally agree about the super mario bros remake with photo bg. I’d love to see a lot of that. Hell I’d do it myself if I had the know how!
wow get rid of the damn icons….
awesome!!! lol
it’s a Gaia avatar
and @Nick I don’t know what you’re talking about.
An interesting idea I guess, it would have been really awesome if the donkey kong and mario kart ones had actually been done with paint irl.
You should have had real barrels in the first picture
